New GCSE figures show Cliff Park Ormiston Academy’s Excellence

Cliff Park Ormiston Academy

Cliff Park Ormiston Academy in Gorleston-on-sea, Great Yarmouth, is celebrating fantastic results in new GCSE tables which highlight the progress students make while at secondary school.

“Progress 8” measures progress by each student from age 11 to GCSE across eight subjects, including key academic subjects.

Cliff Park Ormiston Academy, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.36, which equates to each student achieving on average over a third of a GCSE grade better per subject than they had been expected to achieve when they joined the Academy.

It also means the Academy is rated as adding “above average” progress to its students by the Department for Education.

The principal of Cliff Park Ormiston Academy, Tamsin Poulter, said:

“I’m once again so proud of all of our students, teachers, and parents who have contributed to these fabulous results. It is a testament to their hard work and dedication that Cliff Park is continuing to deliver strong outcomes.

“We are delighted that our students have performed so strongly, demonstrating the outstanding value Cliff Park Ormiston Academy adds to our students from when they join us at 11 until they leave at 16 after their GCSEs.”

Nick Hudson, the interim CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust, said:

“I’m really pleased to see Cliff Park Ormiston Academy once again continuing to deliver so well for their students.

“It is our absolute priority to ensure that every student fulfils their full potential, no matter what their background and the Trust is continuing to support every OAT school to deliver this.”
