Jack Blencowe

Jack is in Year 9 and is a promising local talent in Amateur Boxing. This year has been training with England school boys and has represented them in competition.
“My Dad first got me into Kickboxing when I was 7 where I was 5X WFMC world champion. When I was 10 I switched to boxing and started to train at the Kingfisher Boxing club in Gorleston. I have always been trained by my Dad who is a great trainer and motivator as he has boxed to a high level himself.
This year I have fought in my first school boy championships to crown the best fighter in England, i got to the final and it was a tough, close fight in which I lost narrowly on points. I have also trained with and boxed for England at the Tri-Nations against teams from Scotland and Wales. In the future I would like to become Olympic Champion!
Whilst at Cliff Park I have also taken part in Rugby and Athletics, I have really enjoyed these clubs as I get to work with my friends which I don’t get to do in Boxing as it is an individual sport. My advice to all students is to try every sport you can as there will be one you love!”
