National Careers Week 2022
At CPOA we are celebrating National Careers Week (NCW).
National Careers Week is a celebration of careers guidance, and how by linking education with the world of employment, it ensures our students get an important insight to the future of work and further learning. Research shows that college and school leaders believe careers education to be more important now than ever.
Better informed students result in better decision making.
Below are lots of activities for students and parents to take part in including the wheel of strength, wordsearches, videos to watch and information about what skills are needed in the workplace.

This is the official NCW2020 film, HOPE.
Hope features young people of secondary and sixth form age from Nottingham Academy discussing their thoughts and hopes for the future. The film openly talks about feelings of hope, stress and worries for the future, and gives practical advice on how to deal with such things. The duration is 7.45 minutes.
A quick and easy activity to start thinking about what you’ve got to offer besides exam results.
These are short 5-10 minute videos where a range of employers including local ones (Kellingheath Holiday Park and Larking Gowen – Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors) speak about their careers, what skills and qualifications are needed, routeways and progression routes in their industry.
